Giant Flowers and Giant Bees Guide
Last updated:
Giant Flowers are the rarest and most valuable random event in Build A Beehive, the Roblox garden tycoon from fantastic_games. When a normal seed finishes growing, there is a small chance it mutates into an oversized Giant Flower. That mutation spawns a Giant Bee ?a pollinator with boosted speed and pollen carry that can single-handedly transform your honey income. Understanding how giants work, why you must never remove them, and how to track them across your garden is essential knowledge for every serious player.
What Happens During a Giant Mutation
Every flower in Build A Beehive follows the same growth cycle: plant a seed, wait for it to mature, and a bee arrives to match the flower type. During this growth phase, a random mutation can trigger. Instead of a standard-sized flower, the plant grows to an enormous scale ?visually unmistakable in your garden.
The Giant Flower attracts a Giant Bee, which is physically larger and statistically superior to the normal bee for that flower species. If a Tulip mutates into a Giant Tulip, the Giant Tulip Bee inherits the Tulip's baseline identity but with dramatically enhanced stats. A normal Tulip Bee already carries 130 pollen at 14 m/s ?a Giant Tulip Bee pushes those numbers even higher, making it one of the most productive single bees in your entire hive.
There is no shop purchase, code, or crafting recipe that creates giants. They are purely random outcomes tied to the growth event. The only way to increase your odds is to plant more flowers and let more growth events occur. Check the flower database to understand which base species can mutate and what their standard bee stats look like for comparison.
Why You Should Never Remove a Giant Flower
Pressing 1 equips the shovel, and clicking a flower deletes it permanently. During normal gameplay, shoveling out low-tier Daisies near the hive is smart upgrade practice. Shoveling a Giant Flower is a catastrophic error.
Giant Flowers cannot be replanted, repurchased, or recreated on demand. Once removed, the mutation is gone forever from that plot. The Giant Bee disappears with it, and you are left planting a standard seed that will almost certainly produce a normal flower with normal stats. Given how rare mutations are, replacing a giant could take dozens of hours of additional planting.
Even if a Giant Flower appears on a front-row plot far from the hive, keep it. The stat boost on the Giant Bee compensates for the extra travel distance. A distant Giant Tulip Bee still outperforms a hive-adjacent Daisy Bee by an enormous margin. If you need that distant plot for an upgrade, find a different flower to shovel ?never the giant.
Giant Bee Stats and Honey Impact
Standard bee performance is defined by two numbers: speed (m/s) and pollen carry. For reference, a Daisy Bee operates at 12 m/s with 5 carry, while a Tulip Bee runs at 14 m/s with 130 carry. Giant Bees take the base flower type's stats and multiply them significantly.
The exact giant stat values vary by flower tier, but the pattern is consistent: giants are always the best bee on their flower type and often competitive with bees two or three tiers above them. A Giant Daisy Bee can outperform a normal mid-tier bee, and a Giant Tulip Bee becomes a honey production machine that anchors your entire income.
Place giants as close to the hive as possible when you control the plot choice, but never relocate them by removing and replanting ?that is not possible. Instead, when planning new plantings, reserve hive-adjacent plots for seeds that might mutate, giving any future giant the best possible placement. Our optimal garden layout guide discusses which plots to hold open for this reason.
Tracking Giants in Your Garden
As your garden grows beyond a handful of plots, keeping track of which flowers are giants becomes important. Giants are visually obvious ?they tower over normal flowers ?but when you have a full garden with mixed tiers, a quick audit system saves you from accidental shovel mistakes.
Practical Tracking Methods
- Check the bee sidebar. Giant Bees appear in the right-side panel with noticeably higher stats than normal bees of the same type. Compare carry values against the bee tier list to spot outliers.
- Visual scan before shoveling. Before removing any flower, look for oversized models. If a flower looks significantly larger than its neighbors, it is a giant.
- Mental plot mapping. Note which plot number holds each giant. When upgrading nearby flowers, work around the giant's location deliberately.
- Prioritize giants in your layout plan. Treat giant plots as permanent fixtures around which all other placement decisions are made.
Maximizing Your Chances of Giants
Because mutations are random, no strategy guarantees a giant. However, several approaches improve your odds over time:
- Plant frequently. Every growth event is a mutation roll. More plantings mean more rolls.
- Use higher-tier seeds. While any flower can theoretically mutate, planting premium seeds from shop restocks means any resulting giant starts from a stronger baseline.
- Redeem codes for free seeds. Active codes provide extra seeds without spending cash, adding more growth events at no cost.
- Participate in events. The Interstellar Event introduces mutated flowers that may interact with the giant system in unique ways. Check event rewards for special items.
- Never instant-grow unless necessary. Letting flowers grow naturally costs nothing. Each natural growth is another mutation opportunity.
Giant Flowers vs. Normal Upgrades
A common question is whether to keep a Giant Daisy or shovel it for a normal Tulip. In nearly every case, keep the giant. The mutation bonus on a Giant Daisy Bee typically exceeds the base stats of a normal mid-tier bee, and you cannot get the giant back if you remove it.
The only scenario where replacement might seem tempting is a giant on a terrible plot with a much better seed ready to plant adjacent to the hive. Even then, the safer play is to plant the upgrade on a different plot and let the giant continue producing. Honey income from a giant on a bad plot still beats income lost during regrowth on a good plot.
Integrating Giants Into Your Progression
Giants are not a separate progression path ?they amplify whatever stage you are at. Early game giants accelerate your cash flow dramatically, funding faster shop purchases. Mid game giants anchor your hive-adjacent plots with top-tier output. Late game giants become permanent pillars of your endgame garden layout.
Combine giant awareness with the principles in our honey farming guide and get better bees guide for a complete strategy. Plant often, track your giants carefully, and never touch the shovel near a mutation. The rarest flowers in Build A Beehive are worth more than any shop purchase.
