Build A Beehive Mobile Controls
Last updated:
Build A Beehive runs on phones and tablets through the Roblox mobile app, and the touch controls are designed to mirror the PC experience as closely as possible. This guide covers every on-screen button, gesture, and interaction you need to grow flowers, collect honey, and manage your garden from a touchscreen. PC players should check our PC controls guide for keyboard and mouse equivalents.
Touch Movement
Movement on mobile uses a virtual joystick on the left side of the screen. Touch and drag your thumb in any direction to walk your character around the garden. The joystick follows your finger while held and disappears when you release.
To look around, drag anywhere on the right side of the screen to rotate the camera. Pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out for a better view of your full garden layout. Most mobile sessions involve short walks between the hive and nearby plots rather than long-distance travel, since the Buy, Sell, and Beehive teleport buttons handle navigation between major areas.
On-Screen Teleport Buttons
Three buttons at the top of the screen work identically to PC and are the primary way you navigate Build A Beehive on mobile.
- Buy ?Tap to teleport to the flower shop. Browse seeds and tap any listing to purchase.
- Sell ?Tap to teleport to the honey buyer. Select Sell ALL Honey to convert your inventory to cash.
- Beehive ?Tap to return to your personal garden after shopping or selling.
Master this Buy ?Beehive ?Sell cycle early. Efficient teleport usage matters more on mobile than walking speed, because touch controls are slightly slower for rapid shop restock reactions. Our how to play guide explains the full gameplay loop.
Shop Icon and Purchasing
In addition to the Buy teleport button, a shop icon may appear in the UI for quick access to the flower store. Tapping it serves the same function as the Buy button ?instant teleport to the seed shop.
When the shop restocks every five minutes, premium flowers appear in limited quantities. On mobile, pre-position your thumb over the desired seed listing before the restock timer hits zero. Tap immediately when new inventory loads, then hit the Beehive button to return and plant. Read our shop restock strategy for timing tips that help mobile players compete with PC during restocks.
Interact Button ?Collecting Honey
Walk your character to the hive and an interact button appears on screen. Tap and hold this button to collect all accumulated honey, equivalent to holding E on PC. Keep holding until the collection animation completes, then tap Sell to cash in your earnings.
The interact button also activates near other interactive objects in the game world. For daily farming, the hive interaction is what you will use most often. Make it a habit to collect honey before shoveling flowers or leaving the garden for extended periods.
Inventory Selection
Your inventory appears as a bar at the bottom of the screen showing equipped items, seeds, and tools. Tap any slot to select that item for use.
- Shovel ?Tap the shovel icon, then tap any flower to permanently remove it and free the plot.
- Seeds ?Tap a seed in your inventory, then tap an empty garden plot to plant it.
On PC, number keys 1?0 map to inventory slots. On mobile, you tap the slot directly. The shovel is typically in the first position ?select it before tapping flowers you want to remove. After shoveling, tap your new seed and then tap the empty plot to replant.
Planting and Shoveling on Touch
The planting flow on mobile is a two-tap sequence: select seed from inventory, tap plot. Removing flowers follows the same pattern: select shovel, tap flower. There is no separate confirm button ?the action executes immediately on tap.
Be careful not to accidentally tap flowers when the shovel is selected. Always verify your active tool icon in the inventory bar before tapping the garden. Accidentally removing a Giant Flower or premium bloom is costly and irreversible.
Bee Stats Panel
Tap the expandable bee stats panel on the right side of the screen to view your active bees, their speed, and pollen carry values. This sidebar is identical to the PC version and helps you identify underperforming bees that need flower upgrades. Cross-reference stats with our bee tier list to know which bees to replace first.

Mobile vs PC ?What to Expect
Every feature in Build A Beehive is accessible on mobile. The main difference is speed during competitive shop restocks, where PC players using keyboard number keys can equip and plant slightly faster. For normal progression, honey farming, and garden management, mobile controls are fully viable.
Reduce accidental taps by playing in landscape orientation for a wider view of your garden and larger button targets. Close background apps to prevent notification pop-ups from interrupting restock purchases.
Getting Started on Mobile
New mobile players should follow this sequence: tap Buy to reach the shop, purchase your first seed, tap Beehive to return, select the seed from your inventory bar, tap a plot to plant, wait for growth, walk to the hive, hold the interact button to collect honey, then tap Sell. Repeat and upgrade flowers as your income grows.
For deeper strategy, read the how to play guide, check the flower tier list for upgrade targets, redeem active codes for free seeds, and follow the beginner walkthrough for structured first-hour progression on any device.
